Copywriting FAQ

What is copywriting?

A: Copywriting generally refers to writing words for a marketing purpose. A copywriter could write websites, sales pages, product descriptions, ads, brochures, emails, Facebook status updates, video scripts, LinkedIn profiles, and resumes and cover letters.

Great copywriting makes it clear and compelling why your audience should buy your products or servicesand drives them to take action.

What is SEO copywriting?

A: SEO is an acronym for Search Engine Optimisation, which means search engines like Google read, analyse and categorise your website.

SEO copywriting is written for people first and Google second. It helps you connect with your customers and increase your Google rankings.

How much does it cost?

A: The price will depend on your project. We’ll have a chat to determine what you need, and I’ll give you a comprehensive quote before we start. The quote will cover:

  • the size of the project
  • how much research is required
  • how much information and content you provide
  • the number and length of meetings required
  • the expected number of amends.

The minimum project fee is $250.

Do you require a first payment?

A: It’s standard practice for copywriters to require a 50% payment up front before starting a project. My payment terms are 7 days.

Resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn profiles, and key selection criteria require full payment before I start any work.

What does your price include?

A: My price includes everything I need to write your copy, as well as meetings, chat time, research, writing time, amends, and proofreading. I’ll provide you with a detailed estimate that outlines exactly what my costs are for each part of the project.

GST is not charged as I’m not registered to charge GST.

How many changes can I make to the copy within the cost?

A: You receive three rounds of copy – a skeleton deck which outlines the points you want to make, and two more drafts you can comment on and request changes to be made. At the final draft stage, copy will be proofread.

Can we meet in person?

A: I’m an online business so I only work remotely. However, all meetings are face to face via Zoom.com.

How long will it take to write my copy?

This depends on the size of the project and how booked up I am. A resume will take less time to write than a 5 page website.

I’ll give you a more definite time once we’ve discussed your project.

Do you offer editing and proofreading?

Yes, I do. You can write your own copy and I will edit and proofread your work.

What now?

A: Give me a call or contact me via my contact form so we can chat about your project.

Resume writing FAQ

What's the process?

Contact me to let me know which package you want. I’ll invoice you and after you’ve made payment, I’ll email you a questionnaire to complete. I’ll use that information to create a resume to showcase your value and expertise. You’ll receive a draft within 3-5 business days. You have one (1) round of revisions to make any changes. After the final amends are made, I’ll email documents in Word and PDF format.

What is ATS?

Applicant tracking systems (ATS) are software programs that scan resumes for keywords. They look for specific skills, training, and professional experience. Even before a person looks at a resume, ATS software chooses which ones advance to the next stage. Some formatting styles are difficult to read by ATS software. All of my resumes are ATS-friendly and keyword optimised.

I need my resume urgently. Can you help me?

I can write your resume and cover letter within three days, but you will be charged a rush fee of 25%.

Why should I use a resume writer?

Right now, your current resume isn’t getting you an interview.

Your resume is so much more than a list of your employment and responsibilities.

Today’s resumes are strategically written marketing documents.

As an experienced resume writer, I understand what employers look for and craft your resume to highlight your strengths and make you stand out from the crowd.
